I wouldn't have thought Xander/Riley would work that well either, until at some point I tried out entrenous88's "Song of Iowa" 'verse, and enjoyed it. But that's also the thing I like about male_slash_minis - you're limited to the number of characters or things you can list as "can't write", and so it's possible to end up with prompts/pairings that stretch you or go in new directions. It's a bit scary - but then, you only have to produce 500 words! I'd thought this would be shorter but then it just wasn't. *g*
