computer update and beta request

I'm back! :D

I took my computer into the store and they had a look - confirmed it was irreversible damage to the hard drive. They were willing to replace the drive but would not give me back the old one so I could send it off for data recovery! I'm not actually sure I'm going to bother with the expense of doing that, but I wanted the option. Anyway, the guy let slip how easy it is to replace the hard drive in one of these things (i.e., a lot easier than it was when my husband's laptop crashed a couple of years ago.) So we looked it up, bought a special screwdriver, and now for the same price they quoted I have a hard drive triple the size they would have installed, with motion protection, and I still have my old one in case I decide to do anything with it. Fortunately, I had most stuff backed up - I've lost some pictures, and recent writing, but most things that were academic or really important had been sent off to people for review anyway and I've just asked for copies back. Ficwise, I lost a nearly-done chapter of Fault Lines, and a couple of Spander starts, but nothing that was going terribly well.

Meanwhile, I'd just signed up for the Xander round at maleslashminis the day before the crash, and I need to get my (now overdue) fic up asap. Anyone up for doing a quick beta? It's about 1200 words of G-rated Xander/Riley.
