My trusty iBook, which has been with me since, hmm, summer of 2001, has been having major issues lately. And I've been struggling to ignore them since a) new shiny things cost much money, and b) I love this machine. I am really truly emotionally attached to it, as it has been through much with me and is still a sweet, streamlined, beautiful piece of design. (It still gets comments from people at work. And its keyboard/work surface is nicer than the new ones.) So I kept putting off the possible purchase date of a new one.
But...I've been talked into it. I do need a laptop, and it's no use having a portable computer you can't transport. And I have a day off today, because of working till wee hours this morning so...
We're going to the Apple store!

Looking at the new iBook though. Don't have the money for PowerBook, as Wesley does. :)
