SPN canon question

Not everything in life reminds me of Supernatural. Honestly. But I was actually listening to the prayer of transubstantiation this morning and it gave me Ideas.

Do we know, canonically, whether Sam was baptized? And/or ever went to church? We know he prays; I'm more interested in his possible involvement in ritual Christianity. I'm guessing the answer is no but I can't recall any specific info one way or the other. Any help (or suggestions on where to ask) appreciated.

Far as i know, it's never been mentioned. I don't know if there's anything in the comics/books, but there's nothing in the episodes that even touches on it.

Thanks. I didn't remember anything, but that doesn't always mean it didn't happen.

With Pastor Jim part of their lives, and with John having some idea that Sam might 'go darkside', I'd almost be surprised that they didn't cover the bases, even if John didn't believe.

Yes, but....how long did John know? If he only knew in the last year of his life, i don't know if he'd have even thought of it. If he knew when Sam was still a kid, maybe he'd have done something but....

I got the impression he only learned about everything going down in those last six or eight months, rather than twenty years earlier, you know?

I see no conflict: in the first six months of his life, secretly during high school, or while at Stanford. At any other time, I would need to see a good, solid explanation for whatever was going on.

I'd say we know he prayed. Ha, yeah. I'm currently rewatching the earlier seasons so my head wasn't really in s5 space when typing this.

Thanks! I asked because I'm kind of interested in playing with what effect ritual baptism, and/or communion (supposedly the ingestion of divine blood, at least on a spiritual level), would have on one of the demon-blood psi kids. I'm not sure it'll amount to anything, or what direction it's going, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't off-base with canon from the start.
