fanku: Slayer of Slayers

Apparently there was a weekend flash fan-ku challenge over at fantas_magoria. Not being a member, I missed it, but I happened to see the challenge today and felt inspired to dash something off anyway.

Prompt from the episode 'School Hard': "Spike has fought two Slayers in the last century, and... he's killed them both." says Giles. Write a haiku for each of those incidents.

China
Fires in the streets,
edifices collapsing,
the country struggles;

Rebellion burns
in its blood – no less brightly
in hers as he drinks.

New York
Second time around
He knows the prize he fights for,
Blood of strength and fire.

This one rebelled too –
Her blood is stronger, sweeter –
She has given life.

oh, lovely! i particularly like the idea of spike taking note of nikki wood's rebellion, that it would make her sweeter to have had a child. also, the parallels between spike and nikki - that's very cool!

man, i'm bummed that i missed out on the fanku fun. :( stupid school.
